LumONs was a group project inspired by the electricity crisis in South Africa. Traditionally battery operated light sources are very utilitarian looking and the design loving household cringes at the need for alternative lighting around the house.

The project aimed to create a highly functional and aesthetically neutral light source that is safe and easy to use and maintain.

The end result was a rechargeable, interactive, modular lighting system named LumONs.

1. Place on charger

2. Pick up to switch on

3. Turn upside down to switch off and not charging

LumONs are splash proof, lighweight and easy to use which are all benefits above the 6 hours battery life. Small but mighty, giving a 300 lumen output.
